Q1) What If I Cant Attend Every Meeting or No Meetings For A While?
A1) No Problem, We understand life gets busy or work calls. Members receive notices about events weeks or months in advance so that they can pick, choose or refuse what to participate in. Ps. Most of the good stuff is on the weekends anyhow.
Q2) This looks expensive? Paintball, Scuba Diving, etc...how much is it to join?
A2) Membership is actually free, however an insurance fee of $35 a year, does apply. Members are able to afford majority of our events at no cost to them. Throughout a calendar year we sent up opportunities, and get contributions from sponsors...its one of the most affordable groups around!
Q3) What if I was a member of/are a member of another group example: ROTC, Drama Club, Band, Explorers,
[Insert Club Here]?
A3) Thats Great! We are a diverse group too, in fact If you are in-or have been in any other of these clubs plus more, similar skills or qualifications can transfer in Venturing. You may be egilible for award advancement, scholarships and leadership positions within the Venture Crew.
Q4) Will My Kids Be Safe?
A4) Yes. All of our activities have an advanced, certified and qualified instructor provided that enstills all safety rules and procedures during and before an extreme event.
Q5) Who Is Leading The Venture Crew?
A5) Once a crew has new members they will hold an election to decide on the staff. Crew members age 14 - 20 can run for election positions such as President, Vice President, Historian, Treasurer etc. This staff will then run the meetings along with advance senior staff age 21+. The advanced staff consists of an array of expert community leaders such as: government, civilian, and military professionals, which, are all finger printed, background checked (FBI) to ensure safety for the entire crew.
Q6) Do I have to attend Santaluces High School, or live in Lantana to be a member?
A6) No! Santaluces High School is simply kind enough to provide us with a location to hold our meetings. In fact, we have members that
live in as west as the acreage, as south as Broward County, and as north as Port Saint Lucie. Not including the life long members serving around the World!
